“You do not rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your systems.” – James Clear
As I think about my own systems, those in place for me personally are a bit more elusive than those constructed in concert with others.
The subtle systems I have which keep all things in place, working and not working, are often invisible boundaries where my thinking can become trapped.
Yet, when I examine the practices I have which have formed into habit and think forward about who I will become as I continue those actions, I can better see what’s working and not working.
The sum total of my practices and habits become systems for my ultimate success or misfire.
When I couple the question “what would a _________ person do” with the practices I imagine for that person, my behavior changes to align with my definition of success.
Baby steps accumulated result in winning systems.
