It’s a real thing. When I heard the term in a meeting this week, I realized the phrase “decision fatigue” described perfectly what many of us (including me) have been experiencing.
When change comes as fast and hard as it has been, under extreme circumstances with our personal and professional worlds melting together, even the best of us struggle with all of it at times.
When your brain is exhausted from critical thinking, considering all options from the moving targets all day every day while under duress, it’s natural to want to escape, to indulge, to quit. And it’s okay to do so for a while.
Then, you begin again. Because this extraordinary time, these circumstances, this dramatic intervention to life as we’ve known it, is revealing many things to us.
