When you don’t know what to write, and you’ve made a commitment to write, what do you do?
Begin.
It’s not always a perfect plan or a thoughtful idea. Many days, it’s about observing the commonplace, the nuances, the challenges or the wins.
Days like today, it’s about doing it anyway. Whether I feel like it or not, it’s a commitment I’ve made and I will do it.
Will this be my most significant or meaningful blog? Unlikely.
But it will be memorable, because it was one of the days I could’ve justified not writing, working out the story as to why it was okay to quit, stop or take a break. After all, COVID-19 is challenging, and everyone is having difficult moments. Perhaps this is my moment? We all know how to justify a story about why we couldn’t get it done assuming people will relate and understand.
The road to mediocrity is riddled with stories, reasons, excuses, justifications and explanations.
Not today.
