The pain is in the middle.
This week, I was supposed to be on vacation. I’m not. In fact, it’s the antithesis of vacation.
I’m not fully working, so my time is compressed to accomplish all I’ve committed to, and I’m not off when I’m off, because I’m trying to steal moments and hours of relaxation. I’m partially working and partially off. It isn’t working for me or for my team.
With all the changes in our world, we’ve done a poor job of saying no, myself and my team. We’ve said “yess” to help at every turn and have been happy to do so. The structure is gone. We need to say “no.”
To have any resiliency, you must say no. The learning continues and so does the pain.
It’s either a hell yes, or a hell no. The pain is in the middle.
