Don’t Blur The Lines #388

by Sue Hawkes

Life is never going back to the way that is was… NEVER.

As I hear people discuss the “new normal” whatever that is, I wonder what they mean. In my estimation, we’ll be living as we are right now, easily into 2021 and very possibly to the end of 2021.

Do I have a crystal ball? No. Do I believe the data shows us what we can count on? Yes.

As people and companies have adjusted to WFH (work from home), we’re realizing the benefits and the costs of our “old normal.” We’re also seeing the challenges with WFH for families with school aged children, areas with poor internet, people who don’t do well working alone and multiple people online and in meetings with limited space.

It seems we’re finding ways to cope, though imperfectly every day, and always working to make it easier, more efficient and enjoyable.

The reality that our future will be some hybrid version of what was and what is remains.

Are you paying attention to what’s working and what’s not working?

Are you noting what supports you and those around you at work and home in finding space and productivity?

If not, it may be worthwhile to invest the time to consider what is non-negotiable in your routine. Too often, we blur the lines when we don’t transition from one place to another and it causes problems everywhere.
