You Decide #475

by Sue Hawkes

I recently heard this quote “There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”

As I reflect on 2020, I’m contemplating what my future self looks like with regard to the challenges and gifts the year has offered. How do I take what I’ve learned to catalyze a more intentionally great version of me? How to I get crystal clear about what to complete, what to begin and what to continue?

If you’re interested in doing this work with me, consider: when you reflect on who you are and who you’ve been as a partner, spouse, leader, parent, sibling, friend, citizen, employee, neighbor, employer…in 2020, what do you appreciate?

What are you proud of having said and done? What do you need to recognize and appreciate? How do you see yourself? What stands out?

What are you willing to let go of? What no longer serves you? What can you call “DONE” in terms of characterizations of yourself?

What are you committed to catalyze, appreciate, and nurture? What has served you well? What is compelling enough to change your practices?

You are the author of what’s possible for yourself. Intentionally or accidentally, you decide.
