Don’t answer a question with a question.
Unless you’re seeking clarity, details and information to better answer what’s been asked, just don’t do it.
When you answer a question with another question, check in to see if you’re not answering because you don’t want to commit. In other words, are you avoiding offering a position, an opinion, or an answer so the person asking is left to decide?
If so, come out and say it or risk frustration and potential conflict from the other person.
Sometimes you don’t want to decide, lord knows I’ve told my husband on several occasions “I’m out of decisions, you decide.” When I do so, he knows I’ll ride with whatever he chooses.
If you don’t do that, and don’t answer a direct question, don’t complain.
You had an opportunity and passed on it.
