“Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.”
― Rumi
Last week, I lost my temper. Though I apologized quickly, it doesn’t matter, I can’t take it back. My words won’t be unheard. It may be forgiven and even forgotten, but it doesn’t change the impact.
It wasn’t the first time; I can work to be better to ensure it’s the last time.
This Rumi quote sums it up for me.
Let me have the presence of mind, the connection to a higher purpose, the deep faith to recognize my ego’s engagement and remind myself of my own imperfections in the moment.
Raising my words is the gateway to humility.
