When life gets difficult, it’s easy to feel powerless. It can seem like nothing we do matters or makes an impact, like things will never get better. I’ve had those feelings too, but I’m here to tell you they’re a waste of time and energy.  

So, when the headwinds are strong, what if you focus your mind on more empowering thoughts? I’ve asked myself the following questions countless times when overcoming challenges and they always provide a positive mental shift:  

  • What can I control in this situation?   
  • What can I learn from this situation?
  • How can I manage my mindset more effectively?   

We can’t avoid tough times, but we can control how we think when we’re experiencing them. If you’re in a challenging season right now, give these questions a try. You’ll emerge stronger on the other side.
