Sacrifice is a Reality #165
On my drive to work, I’m listening to the radio and Dave Ryan (@daveryankdwb) says, “If you’ve ever taken a shower, you’ve had an idea,” referring to the fact that an idea alone will not make you an entrepreneur. Many people think it’s that simple; it’s not. If it was, everyone who’s taken a shower would be self-employed.
As David Allen says, “Our mind is made for having ideas, not for holding ideas.” Those words are music to any visionary, entrepreneur or leader. That said, it doesn’t mean all ideas are worthy of action.
To succeed, you must be prepared to apply massive action to your idea, coupled with the persistence to endure the challenges and naysayers and multiplied by an intense passion for your possibility over comfort and convenience.
Anything short of that renders it as an idea, a hobby, a fantasy or a passing fancy. Don’t confuse one for the other; sacrifice is a reality to realize your dreams.
